Alaska Photo of the Month – February 2017

We are having a wonderful winter up here in Alaska. But the snow piling up and the cold temperatures have us dreaming of warmer and sunnier times, like the scorching, arctic afternoon featured in our Photo of the Month!

This month’s photo comes from long-time guide, Haley Johnston, of Tundra Travels.

Haley snapped this shot of a guest hiking the dunes on our immensely popular Noatak River & Great Kobuk Dunes Combination. This trip has become popular with National Park “checkers” and adventurers alike.

The Noatak River features incredible wildlife, great hiking and fun paddling. The Great Kobuk Sand Dunes always blow guests away – massive sand dunes north of the arctic circle – what could be more amazing than that!?
