Gear & Equipment Lists Plus Instructional Videos
Below you will find links to our Alaska gear and clothing lists specific to the type of adventure trip we offer. You’ll also see links to our gear list videos which are both informative and instructional. It’s important to note that we travel light, yet spare few comforts. The following lists reflect this dogma! Our gear lists are based on typical seasonal and environmental conditions you are likely to encounter in Alaska during the summer months. Please refer to your particular adventure’s logistics section (located on each trip’s details page) for specific weather conditions common to your destination. You can also refer to our Alaska Weather Page for weather forecasts in many of the regions we visit. Living by the tenet of “Hope for the best, plan for worst, and get something right in between” has served us quite well and often seems to sum up the Alaska experience.
Environmental comfort levels will vary from person to person, so please select your clothing and equipment accordingly and use these gear lists as a guide. For example – If you run cold, bring an extra layer, and if you run hot perhaps consider bringing a lighter sleeping bag. It must be stressed that the items listed (or your own favorite substitution) are mandatory and must be in your possession when you head into the field. It’s also important to consider the quality of your gear. These days modern outdoor gear gets lighter and more packable, is often more sustainably sourced, and thus worth the investment for a big Alaska trip.
