Here, an Alaska Alpine Adventures group sets up camp for the night deep in the Neacola Mountains.
Every Alaska Alpine Adventures trip has the opportunity to camp in spectacular places. From the gravel river bars of the Chilikadrotna River, to the packed, volcanic sand of the Valley of 10,000 Smokes, each trip offers unique campsites with scenic vistas.
AAA Guides put significant thought into the selection of each campsite. The perfect campsite has many characteristics: a firm, durable, yet flat and comfortable surface on which to pitch tents, strategic spacing along the desired route, sufficient room to spread out and keep the kitchen tarp a reasonable distance away from the sleeping tents, good sight lines without too much vegetation obscuring visibility, access to flowing, fresh water, and of course, great scenery to enjoy after a hard day of wilderness travel!
While all of our backcountry campsites are special, we were especially impressed with this spot on a recent Neacola High Route trip.
