Twenty-six years ago, Dan had a life-changing experience.
It was September of 1992 when he and a good friend stood together on the shores of Telaquana Lake watching their float plane disappear over the horizon. They were elated and terrified. With nothing more than a can of bear spray, a few fishing rods, and a compass, they took their first steps into Lake Clark National Park.
When they hiked out of the Alaskan wilderness a couple of weeks later, they were euphoric with the fresh perspective and sense of accomplishment that only comes from being immersed in the wild. That euphoria soon led to an idea: build an adventure company that gave people the opportunity to experience the fullness of the Alaskan wild.
Dan couldn’t have imagined that the seed planted on that trip would become one of Alaska’s premier wilderness outfitters, but it did. Over the past 20 years, he and his expert guides have led dozens of expeditions through Alaska’s remote wilderness regions, delivering pristine Alaska to hundreds of guests each year the same way he experienced it in 1992.
